After growing up and being indoctrinated with bland US history, I find myself wanting to know the real history of the US, the nitty gritty. The GOP is indenial and is fantasizing about turning us into Stepford Wives type of BS and my response is, oh hell no. Let's do some learning so we can be more informed and know what to avoid in the future, if we even have a chance at one.
I didn't grow up in the United States, and, honestly, my history teacher in high school was pretty boring. I barely remember anything except feudalism...
Having someone with your spice and personality tell me things about history is something I really look forward to. I love this pivot!
I’m new here, but super excited to hear you’re pursuing something that excites you! My history education experience was…uneven. I’m always curious about how people at the time reacted to current events—was it widely known that Mary Todd Lincoln held seances? Did the witches who hexed Wall Street have supporters? I can’t wait to hear the stories you’re excited to share! 💜
So excited to read and follow along on this new chapter of your Substack!!
Yay!! I'm excited to take this direction :)

The ways k-12 history education fails to capture the true history of the US will DEFINITELY be a major theme I hit on!
